Cases

When you are charged with a crime the police prepare a "brief" which is available by your first court appearance. By law the crown must advise you of all of the evidence in their possession acquired in investigating your charge. That is what is called "disclosure." I sit down with you and discuss the disclosure, which includes a synopsis, witness statements, police notes, and various other documents that the crown intends to rely on. I advise you of the law relating to your case and any possible defense you may have. It may be necessary to conduct further investigation and/or interview defense witnesses. At the end of this procedure I take your instructions, meet with the crown and try to find and acceptable resolution for you. Many cases are dealt with after negotiation with the crown.

On the other hand if no resolution is possible then you go to trial and fight for your Rights!

Commercial truck owner of sexual assault on ex fiance —acquitted. Prominent store owner accused of defrauding customers —acquitted.

In the last few years several of my clients have been acquitted on "domestic" assault and "impaired driving" cases among others.
